What a damper to find a rattlesnake! How blessed you were not to be hurt. As a child, I remember walking with my mother while we were at a day camp. There were cow patties everywhere, we were by the river and a rattlesnake was coiled up among them - very scary! My Mom told us then of being out panning for gold with my Dad when they were just married and finding one under their car - which my Dad promptly killed!
