On New Year's Day Aaron and I went to Colossal Cave in Tucson. We have been exploring Tucson lately and it's been fun seeing all that Tucson has to offer.

Here I am waiting for our tour.

I really like Tucson. There are a lot of mountains surrounding the city and it has very lush and diverse desert vegetation. It really is a beautiful desert.

Here I am observing the views from the cave opening.

Here I am at the cave entrance. Robbers used to use the cave as a hide out. There was a prison guard that would sell his secret of a second entrance to the cave to convicts. The
sheriff only knew of one entrance so this made it nice for the
thieves to escape through the second entrance while the sheriff and his posse camped out at the main entrance waiting for the thieves to leave.

Colossal Cave is a dormant cave. It is still pretty, but it is very warm and doesn't have the same beauty as Carlsbad Caves have.

More formations in Colossal Cave.

This was a very pretty formation in the cave. We really enjoyed going to Colossal Cave. It is about 15 miles from our house. We took the motorcycle and it was great to go on a bike ride in the gorgeous weather we have been having this week in Tucson.
