24 Hours of Old Pueblo

Well sorry we haven't posted in a while but you know how it is, we have been busy working on the AZ Trujillo's Bailout Package since my 14th transaction for the year fell through 4 days before closing...crazy I know, if a Cardiologist making nearly a half a million a year can't get a jumbo loan who can...really the guys saves lives with his bare hands and can't buy a house. I would be a very nervous loan officer going into have a bypass surgery performed by this guy after his ordeal. Needless to say I had to go refill the Prevacid and have been scrambling to recoup somehow to make this year come out in the black...on a lighter note we did have a great epic ride this weekend...

A little history about the trail we did on Saturday. As some know I use to be into endurance racing, my Pre-Andrea years and my last 24 hour endurance race I did was the 24-hours of Old Pueblo out here near Tucson (Oracle), I think that was in early 2002? but I can't remember, Andrea and I had just started dating and I think she must have thought I was crazy when I invited her to got to the race with me and help do support for our team, well she went and I planned on meeting Andrea's mom for the first time that weekend since she lived in Tucson. Well Andrea was planning on staying at her mom's house rather than staying up all night during the event but it ended up we need help for the twilight hours so she decided to say up and help the crew. As it turns out she told her mother this but her mom thought instead that Andrea was being held captive by a band of rouge mountain bikers. Through the course of the night Andrea's mom called all the bike shops in the area looking for this "race" and of course non of them had heard of it (I think this was only the second year they had the race at the time, now it is very well known), then she called the police to help her, then then the Sheriffs Dept and after they all told her she was crazy and to go to bed she went out to try and find it on her own even pulling over cyclist on the street to ask them if they had heard of it and knew where it was.

The next day of course Andrea's voice mail on her phone was full and I met her mom and everything was fine. So this is my story of how I first met my now mother in law... Andrea got the chance to ride this course this weekend and below are some pics for this trail that is rooted deep with personal history. (we did about 20 miles 4 are not shown on this because we sampled some new trail and I had already turned off the GPS-total climbing ~1500 vertical feet)

Wow! I had forgotten about Andrea's mom wondering about the race - gotta say it is a typical mom's reaction. What a race! Poor Andrea! You should actually contact Channel 5 News and complain about the mortgage situation with clients like you have . The housing situation is ridiculous, but you are a fighter and you will bounce back!!
