Time for Some Changes

I know January 1st is usually the day people make resolutions for change, it just took me longer to figure out what I wanted to change in my life. I feel like I haven't been living life to the fullest and there are so many more things that I would like to do with my life and things I would like to change.

My first major change came about 2-3 weeks ago. I had long hair and I decided to chop it all off. I was sick and tired of how it wouldn't hold a curl and it was always getting in knots despite braiding it and brushing it constantly so I decided time for a change. I woke up one day and decided to cut it. The hair stylist cut off over 12 inches. It is so nice not having to hassle with it and it dries much faster!

With this move we had we discovered we had a lot of junk and why are we keeping it all? I have been in de-junking mode and have come to sort out my priorities. I got rid of half of my clothes and half of my shoes. I used to love scrapbooking, but to tell you the truth I don't have the time for it so I am selling all of my scrapbooking materials and supplies. It actually feels good to be getting rid of things that are holding me back and taking up space. I always feel guilty for not scrapbooking, but when I sit down to do it, it makes a mess and it takes me forever to come up with an idea. I've decided to stick with my quilting and sewing and give up scrapbooking. If I feel like scrapbooking I will visit my mom or do it online.

Aaron and I want to become physically fit again. We used to be, but we lost sight of that. We have set up a nice work out room and have kept all clutter away from it (it used to be in my craft room and my crafts would take it over therefore no working out happened).
Next I want to go through the kitchen and get rid of dishes and gadgets I don't use regularly then onto the garage and whatever we stored in the attic. I'm sick of all the things we have, but don't use. We have to move it everywhere. We might as well sell it to someone that will use it.

It feels really good to be getting rid of baggage. Since changing my diet in December and making healthier decisions, I have already lost 12 pounds. I'm very excited about these changes and hope to continue on with a life that is filled with fun, exercise, travel and no regrets!

I can relate to what you just wrote. I recently sold quite a few things on craigslist and earned more than I thought I would. I would love to see pictures of the new do.

Andrea I want to see a picture of your new hair cut. I am sad that you are giving up scrapbooking, but I really agree with the dejunking and understand having to choose a few hobbies. Let me know if you are ever looking for a sewing project, I have one in mind for Hunter...

I too am sad about your scrapbooking. You are sooo good at it. The new you looks great! Maintaining space does help, but somehow I tend to junk up my junk room over again even after I clean and organize!

good luck, it will be a lot of hard work and determination, but it will pay off in the end. I think you should take up a new hobby: farming!
